Next is a picture taken from the front door of the house, looking outward. The black tank on the right is their water source. This is common for every house to have in mombasa. Faucets are very rare and can only be found in the wealthier places.
The home can get quite dirty with 30 kids running around, so it is important that the women work very hard. They are all something else. With only one day off a month and working 24 hours a day, there is no time left for traveling, even inside their own country. I respect them all so much for what they are doing. It is great to see that someone has the heart to give their life to these children.
Lastly here is a picture of the grumpy child, Isaaq. Although this is no longer the face he makes, I am glad I got a picture of it to share with you. He is the one with the ear infection and malaria. As I said before he is doing a lot better.
Well my lunchtime is over. I better get back to work before the young ones wake up from their afternoon nap. I hope you all enjoy the new photos. Take care!

Thanks Kevin, we enjoyed the orphonage pictures. Do you have infants there also?
ReplyDeleteGrandpa and I hope you are taking good care of yourself, and happy you are enjoying your time there.
Thanks again Kevin.
We love you much

Kevin, you're one of a kind!! The Man upstairs threw away the mould the moment you were born. How great the world would be if there were zillions of Kevins to go around.

Hi Kevin, The orphanage looks good. I think it's funny that Levi wants to be in the picture. He sounds like a real character. I am glad to hear that Isaac is doing better. His grumpy face looks so sad. I would love to see him smile if you could get a picture of it. Also, see if you can get a close up of you with the children. Have someone else take the picture for you. You are doing a wonderful job there. I am very proud of you.

Kevin, thank you for the pictures of the orphanage. We should all take lessons from those women that work at the orphanage. They are very special individuals. When will the new orphanage be ready? Keep taking pictures of the darling children. We can't get enough of their sweet faces. Hankie misses you!!
ReplyDeleteMuch love, Mom
Hi Keven this is Grandpa, Grandma has been doing all the posting.
ReplyDeleteSo I thought I would post you.
So happy you are still enjoying the children.
We hope the hospital will be just as rewarding for you.
Great pic's
Proud of you and love you.
Grandpa
Thanks everyone. To answer the question about infants, the smallest kids we have are brian and isaaq. I would consider them infants almost. Other than that Some of the kids were a day old when found, so at one point there were actual babies.
ReplyDeleteTo my dad, his name is Levis. No I am not spelling his name wrong. This is the second time I have seen you reply with Levi. Haha quit it. ALso, I will try and get a picture of me with the children next week, since it is my last week. I wont forget. dont worry.
To my mom, the orphanage probably wont be ready for quite awhile. They only have the surrounding wall finished. They started digging, but I bet they wont be able to move in for a year or so. It would be a good thing to visit in the future!
Got it Kev... Levis it is. Also, someday can you post the best way for folks to donate to the orphanage? If the web site is accurate and preferred that's fine but I would like you to confirm it. Thanks Kev - Miss you!
